La Paz Peurto Cortes Wellness Village, Mexico

Beautifully positioned amid the desert and sea, this unique project used the power of natural elements to create a wellness experience for guests. Utilising over 1300m2 with dedicated outdoor areas, it was important to the owners that the ‘wellness’ was unique and differentiating.

Alongside leading architect Gensler, Lindsay created ten private hotel rooms within an index of 335 hotel rooms, were dedicated to wellness and supported an individual offer within the guest rooms. We strategically positioned the rooms close to the wellness village, giving guests easy access and enclosed space. This also allowed the resort to sell specifically to wellness programming.

State of the art fitness facilities and movement studios were also part of the project. We created a yoga shala pavilion, a dedicated meditation space, eight luxury treatment rooms and a full therapeutic thermal area which guests of the hotel could purchase as a day pass. The resort was also anticipated to be a wedding venue – so we designed a signature bridal suite which could also be used by hotel guests when available. The retail spaces were functional and allowed for a variety of exclusive pieces to be sold and displayed.

Phu Quoc Wellness Village, Vietnam

As the demand for wellness experiences went up, so did the appeal from owners worldwide, and their need to incorporate wellness at the conceptual stages of projects. The Phu Quoc Wellness Village in Vietnam dedicated approximately 1500m2 to the wellness village along with 20 rooms of the resort’s inventory given over to a wellness driven experience.

Similar to other ‘village’ like concepts, the positioning within the resort was crucial to the success of their wellness offering. We had to consider the space it took up, its surroundings, view and access for the other guests, who may potentially use the facilities. It was a balance between strong visibility and a quiet, tucked away space.

The overall positioning of wellness at the resort needed to be agreed from an early stage, because if it wasn’t highlighted from conception, then it would have been unlikely to hold the spotlight post opening. Early planning allowed us to incorporate yoga and meditation spaces, therapeutic thermal circuits, luxury rooms and relaxation spaces as well as fitness studios that catered to a variety of different offers.

Sentosa Wellness Spa, Singapore

Bringing the best of Asia together into one offer, Sentosa Wellness Spa in Singapore spanned across 950m2 of existing space. The renovated Spa was supported by the concept of Emotional Wellbeing by Raffles. Gifting seven treatment rooms with an additional two private rooms dedicated to Advanced Beauty and Signature Pedicure Experience, Accor used strategic partner recommendations to help elevate the standard offer.

Inspired by the Onsen rituals in Japan, the Sentosa wellness space was complete with Onsen tubs, sauna experience, tea lounges, and the dedicated Raffles Signature Meditation. The gardens were spirited by the ancient Zen traditions to make this a truly unique experience, and the retail space was functional and open, which made it easy for guests to relax when they arrived.
